continuing the chain of kindness

Our goals

  1. 01

    Share their stories

Every project begins with a community we spent time with on the road. Through Overland and our project films, we bring you there so you can meet the people, see how they live, and understand what they need.

  2. 02

Give the chance to be kind

We believe most people are ready to be kind to a stranger and just need the chance. Each project meets a real need in a community you've already met, and 100% of your donation goes directly to that project. Whether you give five dollars or five thousand, your gift makes a real difference.

  3. 03

    Share the impact

We follow every project from start to finish and show you exactly where your money went and what it made possible. Each result shows the chain of kindness working, and gives you a reason to keep it going.

Be a Kind Stranger: Donate

Continue the chain.

How it began

When we decided to hitchhike from Morocco to California, we had no idea if it was possible. We quickly learned that not only was it possible, it was full of kindness, given to strangers without hesitation.

At a certain point it stopped surprising us and began to seep into our worldview: when given the chance, people are kind.

We also saw immense suffering and a lack of access to bare necessities, something so hard to understand in a world that can be so kind. So we want to share the chance to be kind with strangers all over the world.
